Girls on the Run
Attention Parents of 3rd & 4th Grade Girls! The roster for the Fall Girls on the Run program is due by September 16th.

Practices are at Romona from 3:15 to 4:30 on Tuesdays & Fridays, from September 16 through November 14* with the 5k set for Saturday, November 15 (morning) at Montrose Harbor in Chicago.

We will not meet on October 31 and November 4 due to there being early release / no school on those days. We may meet at another location for an end-of-season party on November 14, as there is no school that day.

Email to see about availability.

Cost (set by the GOTR organization): $175.00 and includes a t-shirt, water bottle, snacks at practices, entry into the 5K race, and a race goody bag. Please note that each girl will need a running buddy for the 5K and the buddy will register separately for the 5K as that date approaches (cost for buddy to register is approx. $20).

About Girls On The Run Chicago (GOTRC):
Girls on the Run-Chicago (GOTRC) is a safe, trusted and proven program built to help young girls learn confidence, commitment and lifelong self-respect through education and physical activity. They use learning programs which combine training for a 5K (3.1 mile) running event with lesson plans designed to promote positive choices and an active lifestyle.

GOTRC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and health living. Much more than a running program, GOTRC is a learning experience! While training for a 5K event, girls learn important life skills lessons designed to encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. GOTRC will serve about 5000 girls at more than 200 sites in Chicagoland, empowering them with the confidence and character they need to become strong, healthy women.
